Ingentia Energies Unveils Agbaroji as New MD, Targets Higher Crude Production

Indigenous oil and gas company, Ingentia Energies Limited, has unveiled Engr. Victor Agbaroji as its new Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, with the seasoned industry professional pledging to deploy his extensive experience to expand the company’s operations and contribute to Nigeria’s drive to raise crude oil production to three million barrels per day.
Agbaroji officially assumed office on September 1, 2026, taking over from the outgoing Interim Managing Director, Engr. Charles Odita, who led the company from March to August 2026.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony in Lagos, Odita described his six-month tenure as a productive period during which Ingentia Energies recorded significant milestones. He expressed confidence that Agbaroji’s wealth of experience would enable the company to accelerate its growth and consolidate its achievements.
Responding, Agbaroji said his immediate priority would be to sustain the gains already recorded by the company while strengthening safety, talent development, innovation, operational efficiency and cost competitiveness.
He said Ingentia Energies would continue to play its part in supporting Nigeria’s energy aspirations, particularly the national target of increasing crude oil production to three million barrels per day.
Agbaroji also stressed the importance of people as the company’s most valuable asset, promising to create an environment where employees operate safely, develop their capabilities and contribute effectively to the company’s growth.
It is said that Ingentia Energies’ performance in recent years demonstrated that indigenous producers could successfully operate and grow assets when provided with the right technical and managerial support.
The new Managing Director therefore call for the allocation of additional oil and gas assets to the company, arguing that its track record provides a strong basis for entrusting it with more opportunities to increase production and create value for the Nigerian economy.
Agbaroji brings more than 31 years of experience across the oil and gas value chain. He began his career as a well-test engineer before joining Shell as a Reservoir Engineer. He subsequently held senior positions in operations engineering, petroleum engineering, corporate planning and economics, contributing to portfolio optimisation initiatives involving Nigeria’s indigenous marginal field operators.
He also served as Front-End Development Manager on major gas projects and later became Global Operations Manager for Reserves Reporting across the Shell Group, covering Asia, Europe, Australia and North America, before moving into Nigeria’s independent oil sector.
